#1 Engineer Jacket - Okayama Standard

Our Engineer Jacket is an exercise in refinement and turning the crank until we had perfected each element. The first step was dialing in fit. We retain the classic roots of the shape while giving it a solid tailoring. The body is just right - fitted but not tight. The sleeves are clean and not overly wide, enhancing the sharpness of the silhouette. The classic point collar is there and we passed through countless shapes until we landed on the perfect length. The front hem bottoms are gently curved. We kept the classic 4 pocket front that defines this style and really lined up pocket size and placement. To honor the use of selvedge fabric and the tie in to this historic style we’re incorporating the selvedge in a few special ways. Some seen, other just for you to enjoy. There’s nothing better than seeing a long, “busted seam” with the selvedge edge. It’s the highlight for raw selvedge denim fans. We run this seam, unbroken up the entire back of the garment. You see it each time you reach for this jacket. Just for you to enjoy. On the outside, we incorporate the selvedge edge on the two small chest pockets. 

For our launch, we're picking some outstanding selvedge examples. This is the Okayama Standard. Our most popular raw selvedge denim in pant form, this was an easy choice when we wanted to pick the quintessential Japanese raw selvedge denim. Classic indigo warp with crisp white weft. Starchy, heavy, great texture and grain. The fades to match as we've shown in you previously. Of course, the coolest orange selvedge ID. If you're a Japanese selvedge fan, this is one.
