We return to our favorite mill in Japan which is dedicated to recreating the most iconic workwear and military fabrics from around the world. They went to France again, to recreate the famous moleskin used in the region's historic work jackets. This is a piece of fabric history you can wear today - the Repro French Worker Moleskin.
Note: We recommend sizing up one from your usual Gustin size.
Our partner mill in Japan has painstakingly and faithfully reproduced this fabric from a vintage garment it acquired. The French Work Jacket is an icon. The old versions were constructed from one of our favorite fabrics - moleskin. Most notable is the way moleskin combines ruggedness and refinement. It has a history as a utilitarian, hard-wearing fabric and this version instantly builds that personality with real heft. At 12 ounces, it's one of the heavier versions we've offered and you feel it. Burly and thick, the impressively tight weave moleskin is known for lends an indestructible feel. Refinement comes in the form of pure felt-like suppleness, approaching a thick leathery hand. It's a special combination. This indigo tinged navy is the classic color choice. Knowing this fabric has a true history driving the details makes it even better.

"I was shocked. These pants fit exactly like they are supposed to. The rise is spot on, the waist is right where it should be, if not a bit snug. That's a different experience for me when getting pants without trying them on first. The fabric is stiff but will break in over time. These pants will take effort, like a good burly denim, to get soft and cozy. The craftsmanship appears impeccable and sturdy. I will have to get them tailored as the legs are long but that allows me some customization."
