There were always a few garments our parents wore that captivated our attention. It was usually because they possessed a certain style that we associated with them. They usually wore hard for years and years to the point of near disintegration. They were softened by time and service and were seared into our memories from a young age. This is what inspired the 20 Year Twills. Color first draws you in - vivid colors given a soft finish so they take on a perfect worn patina. A retro plaid pattern is the ideal way to bring these colors together and lend a vintage vibe. Intensely slubby yarns create the most beautifully organic texture. It's almost as if the shirt has been worked so hard it has started to break down. We usually only see such great texture in the best selvedge denim. Finally, this is a perfect balance of dense yet soft in a solid 8 ounce package. These are special shirts that bring an earlier memory up to today's standards.

This shirt is sewn up in our new Rugged style. It's designed to be the perfect style for our heavier, more rustic fabrics we run. It's a bit more casual, without being over the top. This style is set off by three key design cues: a perfectly sized collar without buttons, two clean button closures, and rounded chest pockets. These three elements lend the style a more casual look while their clean implementation keeps the shirt versatile. A simpler back yoke replaces the box pleat and locker loop of our Classic style-intricate stitching tacks down the collar stand. The Rugged style inherits the same core fit block from the updated Classic style. We knew it was right the moment we sewed up some flannels and heavy jacquards in this style.
