Black Low Top

These Gustin low tops are made out of Nappa leather from one of the finest tanneries in the Tuscany region of Italy. Getting a standout black low top is all about selecting the perfect material. In this case, quality, color, weight and texture turn a standard shoe into something much more special. We use only the highest graded Nappa available, which means these shoes will start beautifully and hold up even better. The pores on the leather are partially closed in a heat pressing process, giving the skin slightly more breathability. The grain is tight giving the shoe a super soft and smooth feel. The color is jet black and a touch of shine livens it up. The leather weight is intended to give the shoe structure, while also accommodating a full calfskin, tan lining. Tonal black stitching gives the uppers a stealthy look, while the cream colored Margom sole complements the dark leather and avoids the shocking contrast of your average white sole version. This is a gold standard low top with all the details dialed in just right.

The Gustin low top pays homage to the now classic sneakers we grew up wearing. Take one look at the shape of our low top and you know it captures everything perfectly — from the extremely low profile toe box, to the ultra clean stitch lines, to the absence of any extraneous materials. Beauty comes from the perfect curve of the eye row, the slightly built up collar, the small heel tab and the matching black cotton laces. Our sneakers are constructed by hand in the Tuscany region of Italy by a group of craftsmen who have been making shoes since 1901. They have perfected their craft to the point where the industry's biggest and best names, including Lanvin, use them for production. All leather is die cut one hide at a time. Single needle stitching is used to construct the uppers. Binding clean finishes edges. Custom lasting creates the unique Gustin shape. An Italian-made Margom rubber sole is cemented internally and reinforced with 360° stitching to the upper. A calfskin-lined removable footbed is stamped with the Gustin logo. These are time honored techniques taken to the highest level.

Gustin sneakers follow European sizing and run slightly larger than some US sizes. If you typically wear a US 9 in dress shoes or boots, we recommend ordering a US 9 in these as well. If you usually wear a half-size, we would recommend you order down to the nearest whole size. If you have tried on other Margom soled sneakers, you should order the same size.
