The inspiration for this style is the traditional Sashiko sewing technique. Used as a functional sewing technique for repairs and decorative effects, Sashiko is respected for its handmade style, prominent stitching and patterning effects. This style uses a Dobby weave to recreate the prominent stitch and geometric lines and then dials up the texture to absolutely beautiful levels. Imagine the plushest cotton rope interlaced together to create a hand woven look, huge texture and flowing feel. That's what we have here. Even better is the rugged 12 ounce weight, giving this style true vintage appeal. This beautiful indigo fabric starts out a dark inky blue and ages beautifully like a pair of raw denim. Pants can be darker in person. Dye bleed is expected with this piece.

One difference is that the legs on the Slim cut that I always order is “slightly” narrower in the leg, mainly at the bottom. I compared to others in the exact same size and cut and when laid one on top of the other, this New pair is approx 1/2 inch narrower, or a full inch in the complete circumference of the opening at the bottom.
