When we're not wearing classic indigo denim, a great black option has become our go-to. This one gets all the basics right and goes much further. The start is everything we want in a classic black denim. A deep black warp and crisp white weft help retain the iconic denim look. A wearable 11oz weight, starched finish, and a touch of stretch make this denim ready to wear hard. What puts this black denim in a higher tier is the incorporation of extra slubby yarns. These organically irregular yarns help the white weft shine to create a flame-like visual. The surface color comes to life and represents a subtle nod to the craft of fabric weaving that Japan does better than almost anyone else.
