Our goal with the Heavyweight Knits line is to capture the spirit of knits from an earlier time. A time when basics were a bit more rugged. Sturdy, high quality construction. Heavyweight fabrics built to last but require a bit of effort to wear in. It seems you agreed as our heavyweight line has been our most popular knit style.
We've been at work building our next product - the Heavyweight Sweatshirt. Take the inspiration for our Heavyweight T-shirt and apply it to the classic Sweatshirt.
Fabric
We sought fabric that would instantly take you back in time. Heavy cotton fleece is the answer. Extra burly and dense with a hand that stands out. It starts off with a touch of coarseness. You have to earn your comfort like raw denim, but over time it develops into the perfect mix of weight and suppleness. The finish is a luxuriously brushed backside for comfort. The instant you touch this sweatshirt you'll get it. We, and you, have experienced the quality this mill in Canada delivers. Our heavyweight indigo t-shirts use their jersey.

Construction
Real attention to detail. Flat locked seams throughout. Ribbed side panels. Hems, cuffs and collar a bit wider to instantly convey the vintage aesthetic we want to capture. The quality of sewing is apparent. This is precisely why we partnered with the mill that makes the fabric to make the garment. They know the material and they know how to use it best.

Finish
High quality veg tan leather patches. A large format patch goes inside the collar. A small square goes on the bottom hem. Each will age uniquely over time.

"I bought this for my husband as a gift. He had noticed that sweatshirts are not made as well as in the past and simply don’t have enough quality inner material like what we grew up with. So, when I saw an online ad for this I jumped. I didn’t mind that there would be a wait- I gave him the picture on the holiday, and with the excellent updates provided by Gustin, I knew when the sweatshirt would arrive.
And when it did!! My hub was floored. He loved everything about it. My fear that it might not fit was set aside when the hub tried it in- PERFECT. And this really is no average sweatshirt - it’s more like a fab sweater made of high end cotton sweatshirt fabric. He wore it out to dinner with friends ( to a high end casual but super hip resto), got oodles of compliments, felt totally comfortable, looked totally stylish and was delighted.

"Pros: Fantastic quality and details. Has a really nice weight to it and the pattern is really sharp.
Con: very tight/narrow neck hole. Not a great fit for an athletic neck. Not a fan of the big leather brand label on the outside.
I was able to catch that with the heavyweight sweatshirts the sizing is down one (I’m usually an L, but I saw the chart that I’d be a M), but my guess is that not everyone saw that, and these should just be more true-to-size."
