When we found the Heavy Antique Japan we knew it was an incredible raw selvedge starting point. Seeing how it develops with wear truly confirms the impeccable character this denim has in store for you. We'd recommend starting on your pair now.
Despite our love of variety in selvedge denim, there is something that remains special about the classic fabric coming out of Japan. They are masters of subtlety and tweaking little details to create something truly beautiful and vintage. The ideal raw denim canvas to put your unique touch on. The Heavy Antique Japan is a prime example. 16 ounces of densely woven cotton with a good amount of starch makes this fabric feel absolutely tough. That starch will help you lock in nice creases. The color is a very dark indigo to start, coming from the warp. The weft is strongly beige tinted and the yarns are slubby. The result is a nice show through on the top surface and a slightly dusty brown, antique cast. You also pick up nice cross hatch grain throughout the surface. All this sets the stage for absolutely stunning fades. The pictures say it all. This is every raw denim lover's dream.
Please note, you will receive a new pair of raw denim, not worn-in or distressed

"This salt & pepper plaid shirt is **** awesome. Fit, feel, and look are amazing! Best looking shirt I own. My wife gave me “the eye” when I walked into the kitchen wearing it. Thanks for making it!"

"I really love Gustin. I just don't think I'd choose another brand at any price point. And I love watching for new products/return of old favs. But a very important part of the experience is the great customer service."

"I wanted to tell you how much I love the rainbow nep natural t-shirts. After over a year of trying to find my everyday t-shirt, this is finally it. I have four of them now and they are basically all I wear."
